Tea Brokering Back Office System Shift (tbBOSS)
Tea Brokering Back Office System Shift (tbBOSS) is a solution provided to the tea brokers of Sri Lanka, used by the majority of tea brokering and warehousing companies in Sri Lanka as a fully-fledged back office system for commodity brokering. The provided solution, in order to facilitate tea brokers’ business processes and to enable them to carry out the daily tasks accurately, efficiently and in an effective manner. The solution tbBOSS has been implemented at majority of the tea brokers in Sri Lanka.
Currently TBBOSS solution enables six tea brokers out of eight in Sri Lanka while our cutting-edge solution facilitating smooth functioning of their business processes and enabling to carry out their daily tasks efficiently and effectively in easy manner by automating complex and critical tasks which were done manually
Our solution is also used by rubber brokering companies in Sri Lanka and for coffee brokering in Kenya
Requirement We Identified
As Tea is the Sri Lanka’s one of the key income source and one of the largest producer and exporter in the world, we identified to contribute information technology approach to make easy the Tea Brokering aspect of the Tea Brokering companies around the country.
Solution We Provided
As a holistic solution for commodity brokering, our solution integrates three core processes of brokering houses, namely Storing, Brokering and Advancing. In addition, the solution also connects external stakeholders with brokering houses via a ‘Buyer-Seller Portal’, adding value with analytical information and dashboard views.
Challenges We Met
When providing a common platform as a software solution While Tea Brokering is a commodity approach, the solution we needed to satisfy with each broker and also need to match with every single function of them.
Technologies We Used
Since its first release in 2002, our solution has evolved side by side with rapid technological advancements in the world. With its latest version, our solution now supports perpetual and Software-As-A Service (SAAS) models.
TBBOSS web based system is developed using the C# and ASP.Net languages and to enhance performance MVC technology has been used. The reports are developed using Crystal Reports xi and the solution can be hosted on a Windows Environment, with the privilege for the users to access from out of office and is strengthen with security and encryption to stabilize data integrity.
